Snowshack
Looks like it wants to snow here right now. Also pretty unusual that it's warmer on all of Long Island then CPK currently Some very fine light snow, basically snow mist right now...not quite a coating or trace but there is evidence of it on the ground. Top five event of the year so far..
IrishRob17
i was really impressed with the nicu on this end modern medicine is amazing I can only imagine how far they have come since my youngest will be 18 this year, so I'm sure there have been advances in the past almost 20 years. While my youngest was three months early he 'caught up' by his first birthday and has no lasting effects in spite of having a number of serious difficulties while in the NICU. Top five event of the year so far.. I saw it too...bad dendrite growth...plus a 1036mb high over northern New England...making it hard for snow to edge northward. Wannabehippie
Storm threat is increasing for next week. All of the models show something. Haven't we been hearing the same thing for weeks now, that a storm is just a week away?

LongBeachSurfFreak
Haven't we been hearing the same thing for weeks now, that a storm is just a week away? That's how it goes every winter in this forum. Good news this time is the pattern really can't get much worse snow wise so it's going to happen eventually. You roll the dice enough times and you're bound to win.

stlirish
All of you complaining about ads that have an iPhone or Android phone should download Tapatalk. You can then add Amwx or any other forum that supports the setup. There's only one add at the bottom. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
MJO812
998 low near Montauk for this weekend on the GFS. It develops a little too late for our area if you want snow.
WintersGrasp
998 low near Montauk for this weekend on the GFS. It develops a little too late for our area if you want snow. its still something to watch in my opinion. It doesn't really just develop too late for us, it develops too late for pretty much ALMOST everyone up into the northeast. A coastal in mid January should have a bit more snow thrown back I would think. Most likely this will support the trend of giving us rain or nothing, but its definitely one to watch

IsentropicLift
We actually have a fairly potent setup at H5 with a deep, negativley tilted trough. Just need this to close off down south and we'll be in business.

Is white gold what it's called when you get several inches of snow followed by walking the dog ? Or is that golden white ?

WintersGrasp
Apparently the gfs goes boom around day 9. I haven't seen itLooks like a nice setup at 204 hours, but since the GFS is now the former parallel GFS, it might have taken with it its tendency to over-amplify systems in the long range (at least what I've noticed)
SnoSki14
Well there you go the new and hopefully improved Gfs develops a whopper of a storm Day 9-10 let's see what happens. The day 4-5 potential does look interesting. Sometimes these systems sneak up on us when we think they're no big deal.
