Hi Giggles.

What B+ ?

When you gave that totally serious critique of my critique.  I really was at a loss for a snappy retort.

in 1968 I went from listening to Frankie Valli in January to Frank Zappa later in the year...The mothers of invention...1968 was a bad year to this country and snowstorms around here...

Hi UnK,

I think Zappa had his best bands in '73 and 74. Over-Nite Sensation, Roxy and Elsewhere for example.

The thing about it was; there was a lousy anticyclone in place...it was one of those "one in ten" situations I often cite...nine other times it would be rain...but with a cold February ocean...a halfway decent track...and a little luck...the city did great & Westchester was close to 30 inches, IIRC....east of Upton on Long Island it was mostly rain.

Though Eastern Long Island would cash in about 2 weeks later as they were on the fringes of one of Boston's greatest snow events...the much ballyhooed "100 hours storm"...that brought copious snow totals to places like Logan Field & Blue Hill Observatory in Milton / elevation 628 feet.

Places like Bridgehampton & Cutchogue were in the 7 to 8 inch range for the Feb 24-28, 1969 event.  Logan Airport in Boston cracked the 20 inch barrier...but it was not really deemed a 20 inch event because it did not fall within the prescribed 48 hour limit...it was more or less over the course of 4 days.  It took until the winter of 1977-78 for Logan in Boston to record not one but two 20+ inch events...1/21/1978...and the famed Blizzard of '78...falling on 2/6/78 - 2/7/78.

Oh it was nothing really. You're the one who threw the big fat pitch right down the middle.

Hard not to smash it.

You seem more the football type...

the day before I noticed high flying birds flying in from the south...they were so high in the sky I couldn't tell what kind they were...I thought it was odd...it was a great storm...Heavy and wet at the beginning and powder at the end...

It was like a really close call...south of Monmouth County it was mostly rain...and east of Upton the same...as I mentioned.

IIRC...Upton had 15 inches of snow & Gabreski Airport / Westhampton Beach...which is 10 miles SE of Upton...had just 3 inches of slush.

may I ask you a question? What do you think it will take to get a pattern change? Are you thinking being it is a weak El Niño year we will get a back end winter ??

And now
The end is near
And I face
The final curtain

My friend,
I'll say it clear
I'll state my case
Of which I'm certain

I've lived a life
That's full
I traveled each
And every highway

And more,
Much more

Than this,
I did it my way

<skips the midportion due to time constraints>

What is a girl
What has she got?
If not herself
Then she has not!

To say the things
She truly feels!
And not the words
Of those who kneel

The record shows
I took the blows
And did it
My way...

Finis....

"Here's the pitch to Willie...there's a liner straight to Richardson...the ball game is over and the World Series is over...Willie McCovey hit it like a bullet...right straight to Bobby Richardson...had that ball gotten out of his reach....the Giants would have been the winners...now its the Yankees."

Was that the storm that someone was buried/plowed in on the cross Island and not found for days? My dad often talks about that storm as one of the greats

I think its time they permanently ban me and I move on...I'll still read the board as a guest during the winter. Everything runs its course...and then its over. A fresh start elsewhere sounds good. Moderators or administrator...remove this account and all associated posts. It will be like I was never even here...

Pamela

We can only dream that this is true.

Those that take pleasure in degrading and demeaning others are the worst kind. Especially those who clearly think they have "superior" knowledge and intelligence.

People didn't sit at the lunch table with you years ago but trying to exact that same kind of revenge on others behind your keyboard makes you no better than the ones that hurt you.

Go away and don't show up anywhere.

Genuine and caring people don't like people like you and they never will.

Anthony is a good, good soul and person.

Get help.

I criticized the posts; not the person...so don't rewrite history for dramatic effect.  I hardly think I am the first to make critical comments about the contents of another member's posts.

As for the rest of your post...its mostly subjective & laced with inferences as we have never met...much to my relief.
