I went to see Canned Heat at the Fillmore East the night the Lindsay storm started...When I was on line to get in the winds were coming up the street from the se...When the show was over about 3am it was snowing when we got outside...I drove home to Brooklyn and went to sleep for about three hours...When I a woke I went out and drove around in my f85 olds...It was snowing very hard and driving was getting bad so I parked the car...the forecast was for snow changing to rain but it was a pleasant bust... The thing about it was; there was a lousy anticyclone in place...it was one of those "one in ten" situations I often cite...nine other times it would be rain...but with a cold February ocean...a halfway decent track...and a little luck...the city did great & Westchester was close to 30 inches, IIRC....east of Upton on Long Island it was mostly rain.
