Nygmen
...quantitatively speaking, it usually is the "best" model. these last 2 events and this whole year in general have proved those days are over...and its not really even debatable anymore
weatherpruf
what a joke people need to stop acting like the euro is the best model...its really not all of the models waffle around. the ones coming out today are trending north with rain, and once that happens they usually keep going. I won't be surprised to see sleet all the way to the interior. we are a day away now, so that's that. I am hoping for just sleet now, I hate ice storms. rather a total miss, and I'm serious. weatherpruf
He's left this dimension...never to return. However, as he was passing through that penultimate portal...the final words he uttered (other than "Simonson...horrible...Soylent...ya gotta listen to me Thorn")....was a request for me to give my regards to the Viking...he did not specify *which* specific Viking...but he did reference a sod farm in the greater Miller Place area...so it might well be you! Ah yes, the Heston scifi period, Planet of the Apes, Beneath the POA, Omega Man, Soylent Green....which still gives me the creeps. Edward G's last role, and he was great... jm1220
Freezing rain is nothing to laugh at. GFS would be plain rain and a good amount of it from Newark/NYC south and east.
tdp146
So dislike these gradient storms. Northern 20% of the forum is pumped for 10-15. Middle 60% is back and forth with 4-10. And the southern 20% is hoping they don't end up with an inch.. of rain.

Guest Pamela
I have to say...just some *amazingly* bad analysis by certain individuals in the model thread. I would simply attribute it to insufficient experience with winter storms in this part of the country...

The obvious exception being the Euro.
doncat
Gonna finish January here with a mean temp of 27.7 degrees which is -3.3 along with 16.9" of snow and 5.14" of total precip.

F5TornadoF5
Any predictions for 00z run? I'm betting NAM shifts north another 10-20 miles north and the majority of models shift 10-15 miles south.
