some light snow showers expected in North GA this afternoon :

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF GA...NORTH CENTRAL GEORGIA...NORTHEAST GEORGIA AND NORTHWEST GEORGIA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...

THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF VERY LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS OVER THE
HIGHER ELEVATIONS...MIXING WITH RAIN AT TIMES THROUGH THIS
EVENING. AT THIS TIME...NO MORE THAN A DUSTING IS EXPECTED AND
EVEN THIS WILL BE CONFINED TO THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST ELEVATIONS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY...

NO HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL NOT BE NEEDED THROUGH TONIGHT.

 

 

Sounds like areas like Helen, Dawsonville, Dahlonega, Brasstown Bald will get some action this afternoon.

You must have missed something, the NWS didn't say anything about lower elevations and none of the locations I named are under 2500ish feet.

 

I think you are the one missing something. He made a generalized statement, and didn't even quote nor was addressing yours. He simply stated that nothing is going to stick in North Georgia, which in general, he is correct. Brasstown Bald is a sole proprietor of typical mountain winter weather, in Georgia. No need to insult his intelligence and act like a douche, over a generalized statement.

Brasstown Bald is certainly not the only mountain area of North Georgia that gets snow during elevation dependent events in GA.  There isn't any need for name calling. :)
