December 2014 Banter Thread

H2O

You know it's not a good sign when:

(1)There are two active threads reminiscing on old storms while the medium range thread is pretty sparse by comparison

(2)The medium range thread is loaded with sarcastic banter

(3)There's still discussion going on for the non-existent December 21 storm?

(4)Concern (but not panic!) on the part of several of the long-time and well respected mets here about how things have gone and how they look going into the medium range

(5)There's a spring/summer thread!!!  (for good humor!)

(6)#Santabomb becomes #Santabust :D

(7)Ji has all but canceled winter (wait, that's normal any year)

:axe:

Jan 1966 really stood out as a blizzard, probably more than any other storm in the 60s. Wes told me about that storm at one of the conferences.... over a foot of snow and very frigid too with impressive winds.

Snowfall amounts were not as impressive as Feb 2010 or January 1996 but I'm convinced that the winds and frigid cold made up for it.

many of the storms of the 1960's came with gale winds and low temperatures...

In years from now, The Winter of 2014-2015 will be the one when people say "14-15 wasn't terrible. I'd roll the dice again and wager we wouldn't end up half-bad".

The new 06-07.

LMAO!! I can just see that happening in a long range thread years from now for the 2018-19 winter or something, cause that's the type of stuff people say here.

It can be, but you have to leave the "good" stuff out.   I can get a relatively healthy burrito bowl under 600 calories....brown rice, black beans, chicken, tomato salsa, corn.   Yum.  If I'm feeling like being bad, I'll add guac,

totally having chipotle for lunch today -- after i finish this amazing raspberry mousse cake a coworker brought in.
