Yeah, the higher elevations in Nevada can get snow easily. You're probably looking at Mt. Charleston. The Mojave/Great Basin isn't that much of a stranger to snow cover. Conditions just have to be right.

Yep. Took a drive to red rock too. Great area. My mom has lived here for 15 yrs now. Its only snowed in vegas a couple times. Got a few inches a few years ago. I think mt charleston is 8k feet or so. Vegas around 1-2k

The Red Rock area is beautiful. Had many great times there with bonfires and friends.

So the pattern change snow weenies have been waiting for is finally close- now it looks like that change is very short in nature.

Nah its coming. You are just focusing on the wrong change. Its the change after the change. Or the change after that. Once we get PV destructo by late Jan, it will be totally awesome by March.

I watched Home Alone tonight and big surprise, SN on Christmas morning.

It was at that point my inner weenie defeated my inner Debbie for just long enough for me to wonder aloud why that can't be my reality in December.

According to this map:

Chicago's odds of a white christmas are 41-50%. Ours are 0-25%, depending on what side of 95 you live on, and how close to 95 you are.

It looks like our chances for a measurable event increase dramatically as we move in to January... And then get even better through the first half of February. Then once we get in to march we will see a gradual warming trend
