Well thankfully Canada is completely snow covered and polar air will be travelling across it before pouring over the eastern 2/3rds of the US before long.

I just don't understand some of your posts. It's not like asia bottles up all the cold air and keeps it from us. We don't need anything except cold continental air that originates in-situ in our hemisphere to be plenty below normal. This is driven by basic weather patterns. Yes, record breaking cold is going to need to be cross polar but that's a different discussion.

Dat cold air.

Every year like clockwork, I melt down around 12/15-12/20 if we haven't gotten snow yet and think we'll never see snow again....

Its gonna snow sometime in the last week of the year. I made some posts about a week ago about how this would be the period for significant snow to occur if we were gonna get it this month, so I'll stick with that idea :P. Coming out of a crappy pattern, gotta let the pattern change occur and let things get a bit established more times than not around here. Too much can go wrong with transitional storms, not the least of which is marginal cold to work with.

Of all the busts in the last 10 years, no storm really got under my skin like mar 13. I can handle things imploding a day or 2 out after tracking for a week. That's always part of the risk. But there comes a time when you know you're locked in. And that happens AFTER the snow starts falling and radar is looking like money. I went to sleep that night after it started dumping and sticking even with marginal temps. Radar was solid all the way down past Richmond. There was nothing that could stop the paste bomb from happening. oops.

Of course the snow drought helped pour additional salt, gasoline, and grain alcohol in the wounds.

I really just don't understand. I just want to troll the LR thread and meltdown and cancel everything. My mind knows unequivocally that such a thing makes zero sense. My soul wants it more than a trip to the playboy mansion.

The fauxking king has really cut me deep this time.

There's one line in this post that tells me you love snow way too much

Looking forward to tracking the day 7 bomb. One thing for sure ...models won't look the same for it come Christmas eve. Past day 5 we might as well be throwing darts in the dark drunk ..IMHO.Couple of the mrefs had it trying to cut underneath of us . Interesting period nonetheless.

Imagine if that cut under us...I have set the bar at cold and windy Xmas day...should be in the realm of possible

I don't think we stand much chance at frozen. We would need to be on the n-w side of the closed ull. It's a very big one too. It would need to track off the coast and below us first. There's not really a big cold high on the backside and its going to be a warm air vacuum at all levels on the east side. I could see the mountains standing a chance at good snow event.
