franklin NCwx
This would be pretty much my guess, although might go Dec +1. I have been looking for reasons to go warm in Jan/Feb and they are tough to find.lol.. looking? I thought you were on a mission?
packbacker
lol.. looking? I thought you were on a mission? HAH, my "warm" posts are all about Dec. There just isn't many weak/mod Nino's with +PDO that are warm in Jan/Feb. But, for MBY we need the -NAO for a truly snowy winter. You guys are probably fine with or without it. FallsLake
It really is too bad that my E(snowfall) > μ on any given year. I'm biased. No. Dec: +8 Jan: +14 Feb: +16 Mar: +6 Apr: -2 June: -11 July: -21 I hate hot weather so much that I would almost go for this deal.

So much so, that you just reversed the seasons. It's as if we lived in Australia or Chile.

rduwx
I saw a tweet from HM earlier that stated 1986 ftw as far as analogs go. 2009 couldn't get more opposite at this point.
rduwx
I'm not saying 2 winters are exactly the same but I liked 2009 more than 1986 for my area.

Is he talking about 1986-1987 vs. 2009-2010. Both winters were glorious, though 86-87 was evidently a little better IMBY.

LOL!He is comparing Dec 86 and 09 versus what he thinks will occur this month. He meant 86/87 and 09/10. A lot of people thought 09/10 was a viable analog back in Oct but not now. 87 is much better analog for a few reasons, IMO.

Yep January of 1987 was gloriously epic. Early January storm brought snow to WNC, then in late January this... ...was followed two days later by this...
