Ouch! I'm sure you weren't the only one who got screwed by that mess..... that is who I would have taken if the opportunity would have presented itself so I can't blame you at all for picking him. 

 

On another note, I grew up in Marietta, just off of Dallas Highway. Moved a year before they started extending the East-West Connector to go all the way out to the mall. I went back to visit a couple of years ago and didn't recognize anything. Amazing

 

I live 5 minutes from there and that is where I do most of my shopping.  It really is amazing the amount of growth in that area.  You should see it now. There is even more development farther down Dallas Highway.  It's hard to imagine what it was like before East-West connected to Barrett all the way down to the mall.  There is so much traffic in that area it's really sick.  They just got done expanding the section of that road to three lanes on both side now making it a six lane highway in many spots where there wasn't even a road 10-15 years ago.  It's a small world man.

Truly.... I was only 15 when we moved up here to NC but I still remember when most of that area was all farm land and mostly 2 lane roads. When I went down to visit I could barely find my way to where I use to live because it has changed so much. Concord is starting to see similar growth now but thankfully not to the extent Marietta has seen...... yet

Here's my case...TCU lost one game by 3 points....to....Baylor (at Baylor), Which is an in-state rival, while Baylor was #5 in the country. Now think about that. Ohio State's loss was to VT by 14!!! A complete upset by two scores! AT Ohio State! Also controversial win by all counts against Penn State. Ohio State could of easily been out of the talk of the playoffs, but they sneak in...I guess the rout in the big ten championship game helped their case and I'm pulling for my conference (ACC) as it plays out but wow I was surprised and unfortunately, think it's all about the $. Not joshing on Ohio State too much, they have a good rush, but as seen in the polls I think they're #5. :thumbsup: Just wondering from a buckeye's fan were you surprised too?

I honestly wasn't surprised. Don't get me wrong.......TCU did exactly what they needed to do (just like osu) to put themselves into the mix, BUT.....the difference was the big12 splitting the title because there was no championship game. It's part of the criteria the committee put together. Conference Champions. Ohio State had one and accomplished it with a flare.......again.  It's all splitting hairs really and until they start having a larger playoff pool, there will be deserving teams left out. Competition in the top 10 is just too close. 

 

btw......my second string qb only had 10 days to prepare, my third string qb had even less time and they still ended up with the #4th ranked offense  ;)  Top it off with a teammate committing suicide. What they have accomplished(as a team) this year is nothing short of incredible. 

They do deserve to be there  :)

you seem to know what you're talking about...lol. Yeah I'm guessing the Big12 will have to implement a championship game to be considered then, had they have done that it would have helped them tremendously. I agree with you that the playoff field should be bigger, just because the way it's set up now a lot of deserving teams are left out like you said. It's crazy to see this for the first year and see the reactions. It seems everyone deserves to be there. The committee will probably consider an 8-team for next year, which is awesome IMO, I'm tired of meaningless bowl games, anything to take away from some of that nonsense will be great.

HEY I USED TO LIVE IN TEXAS!

 

but yeah, I'm sorta glad they made it. Any of those teams are good...watching them play Alabama will be entertaining TV (probably what the committee was looking at... ;) )

Oh, yeah i really hope Ohio State wins. Alabama is another state i cant stand...LOLL

I'm probably the biggest sports fanatic on the planet, with my favorite being college football...lol.  In my house we don't argue over movies/shows vs the game.....it's what game will be on  :lol:    

It will be nice to see it expand and the rules adjusted. It's still not right, but at least it's a step in the right direction  :)   So for now, my favorite team is getting ready for the Sugar bowl. They are 2-2 there, but I think 'Bama has won the only three times they have met. It will be a coaches duel, sparked by their recent recruiting duel they have had toward each other these past couple of years, and it should provide for an interesting game. :D 

 

btw....I totally expect osu not to get any credit going into the sugar bowl, and I think if I hear "dead man walking"( when referencing the buckeyes against bama) one more time......  :angry:   :(  

 

well......I guess I'd better put the ear plugs in, because I live DEEP in sec country....lmao!

You're absolutely right, The BIG12 needs to expand and have a championship game. Good luck to all teams in the playoffs.
