Our rainstorm today overperformed.

I live in a raintown. It's all now confirmed.

Our snowstorms underperform. Our rainstorms overperform. #RainTown.

Our heat today overperformed.

I live in a heattown. It's all now confirmed.

Our low temperatures underperform. Our high temperatures overperform.#HeatTown

Next person tells us about his or her town.

All hail the RAP. Faith in the Flakes, ladies and gentlemen.

Should I start a thread for the December 30th, 2014 Winter Storm? :yikes:

I'm currently in the dark grey area on the WV/VA border....patiently waiting for my flakes tomorrow morning

Ah, Bluefield.  You should be guaranteed of it.

I miss all the nickel-and-dimer snow events I used to get when I lived near Charleston, WV.  Then again, snow showers kind of suck when they melt within 15 minutes of the flakes falling.

I hate snow.

:( This winter is killing PackBacker!  We need a snowstorm quickly!

Getting close to Winter thread #3?  Someone with good mojo get it working.  I was thinking it may be smart to make it on Jan 1st, but whatever. :P  I forgot if it's 50 pages or what that is usually the cutoff.

Holy ****.  51 pages in the pattern thread in 10 days and not jack **** to show for it.  Yummy.  Well, maybe this flurry storm tomorrow will work out for some of us.

Pretty sure the Cold Rain's/Rain Cold's Posting Index would take that as favorable winter storm conditions.

Probably half of that is banter, but averaging 5 pages or so per day is pretty high. However, nothing posted overnight is pretty telling. :)

All this rain sucks, but it's going to be worth it when the wet pattern keeps repeating and hooks up with the cold air for snow.

It will be wet, then cold, then warm then wet then cold then warm then wet then cold then warm then wet then cold then warm then wet then spring.

Be gone with your negativity!

I am pumped for the rest of the winter! It's always a great omen when Jan's AO hits +3 twice the first 10 days to along with the +NAO, throw that in with a SE ridge and you have yourself a recipe for a snowy 2nd half of winter. There are just oodles of great analogs that mimic this.

I am as optimistic as they come, and I do think winter makes a run at us later in January sometime.  All that said, it speaks volumes that we go run after run after run after run and can't really even buy fantasy snow in the long range and that almost all attempts to point at a better pattern start with 240 hour maps.  lol.

Big time +1!

Add in the fact that the only event thread that we have verification on is a friggin SNOW FLURRY thread!!!!!!!!!!! What a winner of a winter!

I think people are just looking for anything negative now and ignoring positive things like what Huffman and East said this morning.

What did they say that was any different than anything we've been hearing by almost every met all throughout the winter so far? Hmm?

They could both be right, and they know far more about this stuff than most of us. But we're STILL searching for LR patterns that look good.

My post in the other thread was in jest. Things do NOT look horrible in the medium and LR. But this "models are just bad" crap is now a popular excuse. We certainly don't hear that if they're constantly showing a great looking cold pattern. And it's funny how they're never "trying to figure out" the warm pattern that's going to set up later.

It's fun to speculate. But that's all we got right now -- speculation. If you don't agree, prove me wrong.

That right there is the key. I just think the overall negativity is a bit much. No need to totally ignore some positive things, especially from Huffman and East.
