Awesome. It would be nice to see the models show a good pattern for several runs in a row before they inevitably revert back to the brutal SE ridge look.

Agreed, be nice to have a snow event anywhere in the east/SE.

GEFS is trending better, holding the west coast ridge longer and the east coast trough a little better, the PV is in a good spot, considering we don't have blocking.

Once they do I don't think they will revert TBH at least not long term. Haven't seen the run today but like I said in my most recent post in the pattern thread, I expect the 10th to be around the time things start changing due to the signals being thrown around the first week of Jan. Still several days of model watching before Jan even starts!

I think you're right. I'm just playing around... I don't think we deal with that all winter.

Just saying Hi!  Life and work have been keeping me busy.  I'm now on a gig in Jacksonville, so splitting my time between there and home.

I took my nephews fishing yesterday.  The 4yr old had an absolute blast even though all we caught were bits of vegetation. And I got a taste of what it must have been like for my grandfather when he started taking me out fishing as a kid.

If I quit goofing off, finish a writeup for work, maybe I can get some fishing in today, just for myself :)

I hope you all had a good holiday!

Well the GFS looks good, but the ssw looks weak, cold can't last forever, it's gonna be suppression city, cold never makes it to south GA, it's only gonna be cold for a couple days , then warm up, it's not gonna get that cold in Carrolton, I think that about covers what's about to be said, if the cold and stormy look continue!

Well, I didn't see any discussion about it until today soo......

I've mentioned it more than once and provided graphs before lol (edit: see http://www.americanwx.com/bb/index.php?/topic/45184-Winter-2014-2015-Pattern-Discussion-Thread-II/page__view__findpost__p__3207960) but yeah it's been discussed since it showed up 240 to over 300 hrs out on the GFS, I guess since Larry started the thread on it there's a lot more disco and people willing to discuss the SSW at length.

Edit Nvm the thread I'm talking about is in the main forum disco thread where people are discussing the SSW not our forum. He started a thread on MJO.

Woo, the Euro clown shows T-0.5" here on Monday. Clearly, I'm all-in. I'm not even sure if it's legit snow or not, but I don't care!

If anyone wants snow, I suppose we should head to southern california. A very cold  system looks to be in the cards in a few days. Should be accumulations north of LA in those hills/mountains. Wouldn't be surprised at all if it mixed in even in the lower elevations. Then it  moves out into the deserts of southern/southeast california and puts down some snow there. Pretty damn impressive system for that area.
