It's unlikely that Chrome just fills the cache indefinitely until you run out of hard-drive space. It probably fills either to a percentage of free space or to some reasonable amount. Old cache files go away as new space is needed once the limit is reached. This is a very common caching strategy (LRU). As limited proof, the earliest modification date on my cache files is 12/7/2014. I have not cleared the cache in many months.

So I got rid of some software and changed some permissions and it seems like I gain at most 200mb of files now and then it starts replacing as you had alluded to.

I grew up in hickory and living in the triangle has its ups/downs. Much more to do, better job prospects, and a lot more women my age around here than back home. Being in your late 20's to around 30 in hickory is like women purgatory. That said, the traffic does suck. I live in the Cary/Morrisville area and you kinda have to plan your day around the high traffic times. It takes some getting use too. Took me a good year to adjust to the traffic. I haven't decided if i like the weather here better yet though.

Just tell those girls you'll keep them dry if it's gonna rain.  hah

Shawn, I see you live in Lexington, do your temperatures reflect what is reported at CAE?  I don't have an official weather station at my house, but I do have two digital thermometers with the sensors installed correctly, and I'm always 5 or so degrees cooler during the day.  I noticed the reporting station C7116 (also in Lexington) is usually cooler than CAE, and that station is only 5 miles north of the airport.  It is splitting hairs, but there is always a difference.

The KCAE report station isn't too great vs what we see here in Lexington.  Usually 2-8 degrees lower out this way.

Thanks, so what I'm seeing at my house is probably pretty accurate.  I've seen CAE reporting temperatures like you say, 2-8 degrees higher than all the other stations around it.  Considering KCAE is the "official" station for Columbia I would hope it's correct, but it just seems odd that it is so high all the time.

Also, the local mets here use the CAE report the temperatures for Lexington and Owens for Columbia.  So it looks like Lexington is the warmest city in the region, and I'm looking at my thermometer scratching my head.

Yeah, in the Winter at least.  There are multiple factors in place... like the cold air from the northwest being able to come down this way much less impeded by forests etc because of Lake Murray. In the summer, it's almost like we get hotter. Edit. sometimes the microclimate that lake murray creates can screw those close to there out of Winter weather too... water temps from such a large mass can mess up people within a cpl miles of it. I've learned it gives somewhat higher snow rates due to it being warmer and creating just a tad more precip from recent history though.

If you're ever in doubt about your temps, check out weatherunderground. quite a few stations around here reporting temps close to the lake.

I have, I like the wundermap, although I can tell which people have their stations in direct sunlight in the afternoon.

I live in Whiteford, which is somewhat close to the lake, and I don't have anywhere near the low temps that some areas report further away from the lake.  On the flip side, I'm always cooler during the day.  I had 61/34 today, whereas CAE had 67/30.   It makes you wonder if  Lake Murray had anything to do with areas southwest of it getting heavier precip on November 1st by being on the northwest side of that upper level low driving temps down to around 32F.

On a side note, station KSCIRMO5 by the dam seems to reflect what my temps are.  I'm certainly not using Midway Elementary reporting a high of 73 today.

UGH I hate this time of year when things aren't going well snow wise. Half the forum is complaining about no snow. The other half is posting maps of events from 30+ years ago trying to show that miracles can happen. Arguments are usually close behind.

True! I think we are past the arguing phase! I mean your always going to have the same two or three posters pointing out any possible warmth out of any solution, but I think we are all exhausted from searching for the ever elusive cold and snowy pattern that we all yearn for! Plus the let down of the holidays being mostly over, we need a storm to track, desperately!

I try to give winter time to unfold but, dammit, I've been around long enough to know when it just isn't going to happen. I just don't see anything favorable in our future for at least 2 weeks. At least.
