Man the SE forum is rolling strong tonight! We need some cold to bring us all together. On the other hand, that may be like saying we need a cutter now to get snow later. :o

The good news is that the SE Posting Index is indicating favorable conditions for a winter storm, given all this activity.

It is! This year, maybe it's a divergent indicator like the SAI...because with all of the posting going on, a snowstorm *should* be imminent.

Perhaps we need to introduce a misery index into the equation.  Man, it's always something new!  The SE misery index will be all the rage next winter!... until it fails us, too!

This is a serious question. That tropical storm or typhoon or whatever it was back in November.... I've heard people say that helped bring down the Cold air but is it possible that it somehow disrupted everything so that it could have an impact on Jan and Feb ? If we end up with a warm Jan and Feb, could that storm have indirectly played a role ?

Actually we are seeing the effects from hurricane Katrina.  It won't let the pattern change
