usedtobe Posted December 1, 2014 Share Posted December 1, 2014 I'm not sure why the nam is so wet unless it's from frontogenesis due to the jet streak to the north and the warm advection coming in from the south. Looks way wetter than the GFS or Euro. I know if I was still forecasting qpf I'd cut it and go no better than a compromise. Glad I'm not a mostly bystander though the NAM does add a little nervousness to the CWG forecast out in the far northwestern suburbs. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

usedtobe Posted December 1, 2014 Share Posted December 1, 2014 not really, one panel is heavy rain TheNAM sounding fromm the NAM for 7AM at IAD supports sleet. there is a cold layer at around 950 mb with the temp will below freezing and the warm layer is below 3C.
