Very nice 0Z runs and the clipper too

Is this where things break or do I need to break out the toaster and draw a warm bath? Lol...

I actually like the clipper for more potential than this weekend....weekend looks like a mess actually....

Waiting for Winter.....Still Keeping the Faith....Looking for Toaster Though....

The weekend is a mess for folks south of the pike. Unless we see substantial changes. Even with guidance ticking colder, I dont think it means much here

Maybe a couple inches best case washed away.

Its pretty funny. Looking at the locations of people posting about the clipper, its mostly people who know they are in trouble for the weekend system.lol

I initially didn't feel good about the weekend and my gut was right it appears....still some time but if that clipper can Miller B itself then I'm good.....guess it's not a clipper at that point...I didn't look at upper air....like I know what I'm doing...lol

And by default I gauge storm threats based on MBY.....just normal I think....I won't hate on others for cashing in but I certainly cheer on trends in my favor......

Took a spin through the hinterlands this morning. Enjoyed my cup of Joe in the midst of the winter appeal that continues there. The weenie flakes were a bonus.

Nada here in the lower elevations. Saturday night can't come soon enough--even if it is rainy and mild on Sunday.

17.5/10

Must be the spine area? Surprised they have that much.

It's in Ashfield, about 12 miles from me.  Those pictures were taken between 1500-1700'.

My wife and I are doing some soul-searching about the Pit and other things.  We're considering putting it on the market (at the same time, we're about to begin a kitchen renovation.  But whatever....).  If we in fact do move, I've told her that I really want to be sure I have appropriate elevation.  We've cooled on the idea of a place in Barlett/Jackson after our offer on a place there was turned down; so I'm hoping I have a strong case for saying we need elevation if we move.  That area's one that I'm interested in.  It's the same school district we're in now and it's the same commute for my wife into Amherst.

Of course, she needs one more season of the pool before we go.  And, an appropriate  property to put in a pool if we do move.  I don't need a pool, but I do need elevation, and only being at 1000' really doesn't cut it.  Priorities, priorities.

yes I'm the same way I love rolling hills but my wife loves the flat topography and the more populated neighborhoods that the Connecticut Connecticut River Valley offers and with all the modern conveniences so close I couldn't argue with her about it, she stays home and takes care of my 3 soon to be 4 kids under age 7. I have taken some what of a liking to the nice flat farm lands with the hills in the backdrop that parts of my region provide but it's hard to be a snow lover and weather weenie and not want elevation.

If you go just a bit west into granby or esp north granby, those are ideal weenie spots.

That's a lot of youngsters!!

My wife would rather be in the hills than the flats but doesn't have the same fixation as I.  As long as you can get a pool in, she's good.  The primary concern is schools followed by commute.  I work from home now though will likely be moving onto something new this year (New Year's resolution and mid-life crisis time).  So, I need to navigate those justified concerns.  I do sound pathetic complaining about 1000', but being so close to places that get real snow is maddening.  So there.  ;)

What's the highest elevation you can realistically live around there, 2k?

There are houses in Heath that are over 2100', and I'm sure there are similar spots in places like Savoy, Florida, Hawley, Cummington.  You can get probably 1800 or so in Colrain and Charlemont.  The highest here in Shelburne is about 1400'.

Mike i am really proud of that post!

Lay down the law, women i NEED elevation and 1k ain't gonna cut it.

Man if you could get a place just east of the "spine" near 1600-2100' it would be like living in Bartlett. I think some knowledgeable posters would even be surprised how snowy and different a location like that in Massachusetts is.

What towns are in the same school system that you can choose from. Hopefully you can get 5-10 miles west and 500'+ feet higher , lets work on this collectively :)
