They'll be snowcover not far away and temps don't moderate much over bare ground in January. But yes it helps, esp at night.

Its 850 anomalies, don't think they will vary much with Eastern Quebec province under 2-3 feet of snow, obviously if you look at the anomalies predicted its cold even to the coast. Nice look

I agree that the -20C anomaly over N VT does look a little suspicious. That would have to mean like -30C 850 temps and it doesn't seem we get quite that cold. Avg 850 temps over N VT in early January are right around -10C or -11C (at least 1981-2010 mean)

Cold and snow-less. Ugh. Hopefully the models come around a bit... that's like a worst case scenario for me through D10.

Yeah, all the major models kind of shifted away from significant snows in SNE for the 3/4 system.

It does look pretty damn cold on either side of the system, but meh if its on either side of the cutter.

I know you mentioned this in the other thread, but I'm concerned for SNE in the snow department. I could see CNE and NNE cashing in and south of say the Ma/Nh border struggling a bit.

We will see, at least it looks cold if nothing else

Edit: more like pike south

The 3/4 were pretty much hopeless in that area IMO. So you shouldn't get your hopes up for that. I don't really see this as cold and snowless south of NH to be honest.

Yeah I never thought this system had much of a shot in this area. I should have said pike south, that probably would be more accurate and closer to the truth.

I could really see CNE and NNE cashing in. I also could really see this area continue to struggle on the wrong side of some storms, and without any blocking, I dont think there is much to be excited about in the near future

CNE and NNE are a different story obviously
