Voyager
Strange that we had the heavy winds with the storms, but the wind advisory is for today not last night. Widespread, long duration wind event with gusts to 50 mph for today is why there's a wind advisory. Storms and squall lines are short duration events for which I've never seen a wind advisory issued. weatherwiz
Strange that we had the heavy winds with the storms, but the wind advisory is for today not last night. Well the strong winds that will be occurring later this afternoon into the night will be induced by strong CAA as the system begins to depart and a cold front swings through. The winds generated last night from the storms was b/c of WAA at the sfc and lower levels of the atmosphere from the south and with strong winds above the sfc they were being transported down by the heavier rain and convection. famartin
Widespread, long duration wind event with gusts to 50 mph for today is why there's a wind advisory. Storms and squall lines are short duration events for which I've never seen a wind advisory issued. They wouldn't be issued for that. Instead, a boat load of SVR's was issued instead. JTA66
I don't have an anemometer, but the winds that came through 3-3:30 were about as strong as any I've experience in my 8 years here.
