Powerball
And by sheer luck, DTW may have picked up measurable snow tonight (from weak LES banding)... It was reporting light snow as of the 5AM observation.
michsnowfreak
Went to see the lights at the Detroit zoo last night. It was freezing but it was a cool sight. And with 0.1" of moistureless snow this morning, we avoid a measurable-less December

daddylonglegs
-3F in La Crosse... my nephew was north of here an hour and he said his truck was showing -16F. 19F now...we had bluebird skies, but the last 10 minutes a huge blanket of clouds moved in from the north. The cold is brutal, but the sunshine the past few days has been welcome. I've been jogging in this and its not really that bad and with almost no snow, i haven't broken my neck on a patch of ice. hawkeye_wx
We went below zero for the first time this morning. My 2014 precip total is 41.38". The average is ~35". June was 10" above average(record), so the other eleven months were cumulatively a few inches below normal.

cyclone77
One of the lamest, if not the lamest Decembers I can remember here. Had a few flurries on Dec 17th and 29th, and that was it for snow. Had <1" of rain for the month.
