We are getting some wind gusts of 50mph in Fort Collins. Wind report of 67mph at Limon, Colorado

I think there will be 1-3" in Fort Collins and Denver on Christmas. I wouldn't be surprised if there were areas of less than 1".  The 12z NAM has about 0.4" of QPF for Denver, so there could be 4-5" for Denver

The models are advertising a snow event and then a sprawling 1040mb-1050mb high around December 30th (168 hours.) The GFS even has part of Wyoming at -41 degrees in a week.

Section of Boulder/Denver discussion today

OVER NERN CO APPEARS SFC LOW PRES WILL
INTENSIFY OVER ECNTRL CO BY MIDDAY WHICH WOULD ALLOW FOR LOW LVL
WINDS TO BE MORE ENE IN THE AFTN. AS SOME WK MID LVL ASCENT MOVES
INTO THE AREA BY LATE AFTN MAY SEE A SLIGHT CHC OF -SHRA NR THE WY
BORDER AND OVER THE URBAN CORRIDOR. AS FOR HIGHS WILL KEEP
READINGS IN THE UPPER 30S OVER THE FAR NERN PLAINS WITH MID 40S
AROUND THE DENVER AREA.

BY THU NIGHT INTO EARLY FRI THE UPPER LEVEL TROUGH OVER THE GREAT
BASIN WILL MOVE ACROSS THE AREA WITH SOME MID LVL ASCENT MAINLY THU
EVENING. AS A RESULT WILL SEE PERIODS OF SNOW IN THE MTNS ALTHOUGH
OROGRAPHICS WILL BE RATHER WEAK SO AMOUNTS SHOULD STAY IN THE
ADVISORY RANGE. OVER NERN CO UPSLOPE FLOW WILL INCREASE THU
EVENING BEHIND A COLD FNT AND AS THE MAIN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH
MOVES ACROSS SHOULD SEE A GOOD CHC OF SNOW ESPECIALLY ALONG AND
NORTH OF A DENVER TO AKRON LINE. CIPS ANALOG GUIDANCE SHOWS THERE
IS SOME POTENTIAL FOR 3 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW OVER NERN CO WITH
LOCALLY UP TO 8 INCHES CLOSER TO THE FOOTHILLS. SREF PLUME DATA IS
ALSO INDICATING THE SAME GENERAL RANGE AS WELL.

Snowiest Christmas ever! I measured 8.0" in my yard. This picture shows a little more because the ruler smashed down into the grass a little much. This beats my previous most snowy Christmas (2002, Toledo Ohio) when we had 7".

Very nice! Snowiest Christmas I've experienced was 2007 here (which is also Denver's snowiest on record), with 9".

I have 6", but it's really slowed up the past hour. Models are saying light snow will continue off an on all the way through early afternoon tomorrow, though.

Are the any sub-sonic reindeer taxiing at the airport?

lol nah.  Fortunately DEN deals with the snow like a well oiled machine... nice airport too considering there's got a huge NWO secret basement. ;)  It was nice to see my first snowstorm in 3 years, at any rate.
