TauntonBlizzard2013
So if back end snows became reality. Are we looking at late evening for that?

Juliancolton
FWIW, my SLR is 8.6:1 right now, which leads me to believe I've averaged over 10:1 in actual snowfall ratios. Better than I anticipated.
weatherwiz
It looks fine. Modeled well so far. Still nervous about that 700mb circulation once that gets going and how that evolves...especially for this area. One thing for sure is just west of that surge of warmth it's going to be rippage city
weatherwiz
This is my favorite map to watch during snow events. Going to be a very fun afternoon

ORH_wxman
even the mlvl's? Yes. Kind of a decent shift for this close in right on top of the event...I wonder if north of the pike survives without much pinging...maybe a bit, but it could take until 00z if Euro is correct. I guess we'll just have to nowcast this.

CoastalWx
Def a colder look aloft. That would save ORH to Ray it seems..or at least briefly limit pings. Even Ryan would escape a lot while tOlland pings.
SR Airglow
What's y'all's thoughts on back end snows for western portions of the area? EURO/RAP/HRRR/RGEM all show us cooling by about 7-8 PM or so with several hours of precip to go, but I'm skeptical... If we can stay sleet as opposed to rain during the changeover time this afternoon, I think that'll help accumulate anything that might fall when we flip back because we've got a cold base layer of sleet in place then to work with, but it's pretty rare for back end to work out here so who knows. Fun to see moderate snow in the air though even if it isn't doing anything to the ground, nice taste of what's to come.

Damage In Tolland
That may happen...lol. I am not kidding. It appears sleet may only make it up to i-84..we'll see if the cooling continues on HRRR and RAP to push that farther SE or if you're correct and it sleets for 5-6 hours

The thermal gradient was pretty tight though so now perhaps that we are closer the model is handling those coarse details a bit better?
