T. August
No. The dewpoint is roughly analogous to specific humidity..when temps cool, the dewpoint drops on the macroscale. The spikes in the evening dewpoint are due to reduced mixing after the loss of insolation..hence less dry air advected from aloft.. Thanks for explaining that. The DP went down, and is now 47/36. mitchnick
I like this site for all official reporting stations it even gives you the elevation you'll need to center it and it also allows you to zoom; be sure to click on "ALL" up where it says "Density" http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mesowest/gmap.php?zoom=7&extents=36.922526,-80.150879,41.972097,-79.732227&density=

StudentOfClimatology
Lack of a thick cloud deck allowing temps to fall slightly faster than guidance had indicated..would like to see winds turn N/NE soon.. WVclimo
Some mid-30's showing up around the eastern panhandle. 37.5 here. 18Z NAM raw numbers had me at 46 at 00Z and 18Z GFS had 44. Will probably rise 3 or 4 degrees once clouds and some breeze move in, so really hoping to see 33-35 before then.
