wxmanmitch
We've past the 144 hour mark without seeing any sunshine here. There were a few small blue holes in the overcast yesterday, but they were brief and the sun didn't actually come out. While this is often a pretty cloudy location during the winter months, this is very impressive, even by our standards. The last time we saw sun was Monday morning before we had that ocean effect stratus deck come in on SE winds out ahead of the nor'easter. 35° F. HIPPYVALLEY
You only have to go to 3,500-4000ft to find sun up this way today. This is a Whiteface view. image.jpg Killer pic PF! Love getting above the clouds in the high peaks.

Meanwhile, great look on the EC at 168 for Mitch up into CNE. Too bad it's a week out--will likely continue moving north and being a Plattsburgh special. 36.3/

mahk_webstah
Euro did a good job sniffing out the last storm, even though it ended up borderline for us. It is showing a storm consistently now and I think there will probably be a storm next Sunday. Be interesting to see if the other globals come on board in the next 24. TauntonBlizzard2013
Meanwhile, the GEFS has nada, weak sauce slipping east off the Carolinas. The gfs has been woefully bad recently. Late to the party on all these storms. It will slowly come towards the euro

powderfreak
Big interior hit on the euro. Only a week to go.I'm sort of bummed it's only 0.9" QPF under the deform zone up here. Really only interested in 2-3" QPF snow events at this point. <ducking and running>

powderfreak
Hopefully the EURO is on to something, though don't need that to amp up any further that's for sure. Trend this season so far has definitely been amped with these southern lows. That solution verbatim gets ALB and BTV over 50% of their annual averages before Xmas, lol. CT Rain
BAF 42 HFD 42 CEF 39/40 BDL 46 More like BDL is strangely too high. We talked about this weeks ago, but BOX told Ryan they were fine. MADIS has BDL running about 2F too high. And it has gotten substantially work in the last month or so.
powderfreak
What does Euro show for SNE? All snow north of the Pike and ORH west. Details like that are irrelevant but the warmth hits a brick wall at the Pike. 990mb at ACY, then 984mb near MVY.

powderfreak
Any snow sourh or. All rain? Oh you'd snow and accumulate first. Net gain definitely for you as 925mb temps stayed around freezing. Warmth was aloft. You know the drill with a SFC low staying south of the mainland. You'd have a white Xmas.
dendrite
Yes and we have some colder air in place, See if we can establish a trend over the next few daysWell the euro had a nice high in place initially for the last storm too and we know how that ended up verification time. It'd be nice to freshen the pack for Xmas.
