leo1000
Mets what are you opinion on the drop of the NAO chart on day 14 that the climate prediction is showing?. It seems to show that its going negative. Sure its positive now but its showing persistently that it will become negative.

Dsnowx53
Hopefully this post does not get twisted..lol, but there is still the 10-12 give or take timeframe for something perhaps. The PNA spike right before those dates is gaining some legs. The 18z GEFS looked pretty robust with it, compared with 12z. It's still a tad flat, but it's not terrible. Much of N & W Franklin Co. still has decent snow coverage. Impressive to have that 5 days after a storm in November (although we are into Dec now). Some will see snow on snow tomorrow night. Still hanging in the mid-30's though. Clouds have hampered the cooling. 35/

dendrite
Kidding aside, we have a lot of work to do to turn things around. I'm not expecting much for most of this month. The weenies are going to need to have patience. Close the shades, watch reruns of Rudolph, look at old pics of snow....whatever you need to do, to get through this period. weathafella
Yeah the pattern setting in is polar opposite of what's needed. Pattern change begins 12/10/11 and is complete 3/31/15?

Old pics of snow usually gets the job done haha. Just need to keep getting these sneaky highs to build in for some cold, but overall it does look pretty rugged if you were looking for a solid winter month. moneypitmike
Yeah the pattern setting in is polar opposite of what's needed. Pattern change begins 12/10/11 and is complete 3/31/15? LOL. Lots of mild weather to finish up Christmas decorations. Usually, I always concerned when I have a several-day trip to Iowa that I'm going to miss a big event at home. Fears are tempered for the trip next week. In fact, if one needs to be in Iowa in December, it appears that next week might be a great week to be there. Much better than the week I was there with highs in the - 0's and lows in the -teens.
moneypitmike
I guess the cooler air was a little late in arriving last night? The forecasted lows were for the teens. I'm now at 26.4/19. Looking at the mesomap, still pretty torchy this morning. Helluva way to run a WWA.

You sure are interested in recurving typhoons in the cold season, haha. Don't you give Ginxy crap all summer for talking about those?
