Blizzard-on-GFS
Colder and a touch drier, solid run. Colder for who? is it better for CNJ?

Sophisticated Skeptic
Meanwhile, before GFS came out Mt Holly updated their FB page saying they would be upping total at 3:30. Yikes With the moisture setup (gulf / atlantic) this system has to work with...I can't see the progressive GFS verifying here. NAM seems a bit overdone, but not by much. RedSky
In short words..euro was warmer and slightly drier. Mid levels slightly cooler, and that's what counts most N&W of I95. Not sure yet how much drier but that would be a concern
RedSky
ECM QPF dropped .25". Not much but certainly lowers the snow bar a bit
baseball0618
In short words..euro was warmer and slightly drier. If all you can do is look at the surface maps than yes it is very slightly warmer at the surface, but at the more important levels of the atmosphere it's slightly colder and that is a good thing if you want to see snow fall from the sky, bro. baseball0618
If you like white rain, then yes. My point is your generalization of the 12z EURO run as being warmer is not accurate. The surface profiles (dependent upon your location) have been marginal at best for the last few runs so "white rain" has been on the table for some time now. GD0815
If you like white rain, then yes. his point is that if you don't cool those upper levels, you are getting non-white rain. i think everyone is aware of the potential surface issues here, especially close to I-95. Violentweatherfan
I only remember once in the late 70's was there an appreciable snow fall for the lower bucks county area. And that was maybe 3 inches at most, I wouldn't hold any hope for accumulating snow other than on grassy areas.

Chief83
Probably may not mean much with the warmth we have had the last few days, but our sun angle is closer to late January than it is early or mid March - which is an issue in the spring. Now that being said - if it falls as rain - it does not matter.
zenmsav6810
I'm calling Southern Berks as 7" of snowfall based off all the predictions I've seen. The guidance seems more fixed in Berks and Schuylkill counties than east.

Violentweatherfan
What do you mean by this post???? I don't see it snowing much at all in the sepa at all other than a coating. There are some on this board that really think/hope they'll see 2-4 inches of snow on the ground and paved surfaces. It's not gonna happen, and I'm basing it off of my living in the area for the past 49 years. In addition it being November and how warm it has been any snow that falls won't stick to much so just don't get your hopes up.

Once when? November? If so, it is late November. It has happened before (see link although not same setup). If banding sets up areas will cool rapidly at surface. Models have hard time picking this up. Everything above 1000mb is below freezing. Not saying this will be a high accumulation event in extreme SEPA, but to dismiss it completely makes little sense.
