Baroclinic Zone
I feel like that second s/w is acting like a kicker on the NAM. We sort of want that to be the case if you're rooting for the colder solutions. Keep the 2 s/w's separated as much as possible.
Baroclinic Zone
12z NAM will end up being a solid hit for ALL. SLP tracking just E of HAT Tracking pretty close to BM.

Zeus
NAM is pretty cold near the surface. Would be nice if it were true. Understanding that the NAM is not in its wheelhouse, were the NAM to HAVE a wheelhouse, the "early" snapshot is still a welcome piece of the puzzle. Also: did we change fonts? Are has our acid just been very strong?

CT Valley Snowman
I'm not understanding my last very reasonable post was deleted but I will say it again I think it will be interesting to see what the euro temperature profiles look like on the next run. with some modeling putting total precip amounts at over 1 inch, a foot of snow is not unreasonable in areas that stay all snow especially in the hills. ORH_wxman
Out of more boredome, I looked a little closer at the NAM and it would look like a jackpot of interior SE MA up to about Ray's area on that run. Lift, BL temps, mid-levels all look good there. That said, NAM is definitely on the southeast side of the model envelope.

Peeking at the 09z SREFs as well and there are 2 distinct camps between the ARW and NMM models. ARW ones are more amped up and tucked closer in. Not the camp I want to be in though with the ARW...even some good hits on the NMM though which are all usually like the NOGAPs.
ORH_wxman
clown map I cringe at the "snow flag" version fo the clown map, esp when BL is a bit warmer...it tends to be much higher than the others and usually unrealistic. But hopefulyl everyone knows they should be taken with a grain of salt.
