ElmiraNYWeather
Elmira had Heavy Snow after midnight. Mixed with sleet toward the end. Elmira-7.25" (still have light snow) I'm sure if the sleet didn't hit we would have been 10"+ Awesome storm. No school. No work. What more could I ask for?!? #grownupsnowday #goingsledding
CNY_WX
I just drove my fiancé to work in Parish. I81 was snow covered the whole way and visibility was down. It almost looked like there was more snow in Parish than in Brewerton.
CNY_WX
Coming down heavily again. Visibility ~1/4 mile. Waiting for the deformation band to swing through.

ayuud11
I should end up close to 14" once all this is done, the deform band is dropping down toward WNY, IMO they should've closed the school for the little kids roads are ridiculous out here with cars getting stuck at intersections.. Ripping now with huge dendrites, piling up very quickly. Was at 12" about an hour ago.
Superstorm
Snowing nicely here in Lackawanna. Deformation band looks solid. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
coh
I'd say we've had our heaviest snow of the storm the last hour or two. Total accumulation is difficult to measure, but a sampling from around the yard suggests 6-8" since I measured late yesterday afternoon. So that, plus the 2" or so that fell during the day, means a storm total of 8-10" so far. Average depth is now about 16-18".
CNY_WX
That deformation band looks like it means business. Looks like its moving steadily to the east. It should be here in a couple of hours. The snow here is a little lighter in intensity but the flake size is getting bigger.

However, it's hard to gauge how much lake enhancement is going on as well. On the east side of KROC, visibilities have been 1/4 mile for the last couple of hours despite how the radar looks. coh
Still snowing decently but "sun dimly visible". Band does look to be weakening as it shifts east.

BuffaloWeather
Final total is 13.8" here. Congrats! Glad you north towners got hit harder with this one. At work, now but will measure my final total on lunch. Not sure if you guys seen the other models but the GGEM and GFS have several hits of moderate snowfall throughout the entire run. CNY_WX
I think what's left of the deformation band is passing through attm. Snow has picked back up in the last 15 minutes. I just came in from snowblowing the driveway. A very unofficial measurement puts our accumulation around 8 inches.
ENYsnow
Final total is 13.8" here. Nice, solid event in Buffalo. Measured 10" about a half hour ago, hoping for 12".
Gravity Wave
9" so far here, but it looks like some lake effect bands are coming in off Lake Cayuga as the winds kick up in the storm's wake.

coh
I'm skeptical of that 15" report near Brockport. That's almost exactly where I am and it's pretty close to our total snow depth, which I measured at 16-18" this morning. It was 10" late yesterday afternoon. Gravity Wave
Don't look now but the 12z Euro just dropped 24-30 inches for everyone over the next week. 2 storms: 1 on the 5th and 1 on the 9th. The second storm looks like a replay of the one that just came through: an east-west mover except with even more moisture.
vortmax
That 19.5" in Webster seems like a lot as well. Lots of drifting around so it would need to be a disciplined measurement. Not sure I'd trust social media...
Stash
Yeah, the 12z Euro wants to bury Eastern NY this run, but until its gets a little more support, I'll assume its a bit too amped at this stage. Edit: I can't see it right now, but apparently its ensembles were east of the OP for the 02/05 storm. coh
Under these conditions, it's tough to get an accurate measurement even if you know what you're doing. My driveway was clear yesterday...right now I've got places that are still clear and others that are buried under 36" drifts. I put a board out yesterday afternoon in a flat area away from obstructions...it had 7" on top of it this morning. That's why I doubt the Brockport area report (that one's gotta be total snow depth). Up near the lake, who knows, but 19.5" would mean there was a LOT of lake enhancement.
Syrmax
Just measured an additional 4.3" since my initial measurement this morning, of 6.5"...so looks like 10.8" total. SN- now, maybe lake enhanced...not bad, NWS predictions and most NWP were about spot on.
BuffaloWeather
So when I updated my signature with the snovember pictures I accidentally deleted my snowfall total from last year. I remember it being close to 160", but was able to go back and grab the actual total of 161.7". HPC says things look good for more snow over the next 2 weeks. This was a really solid storm for the entire Great Lakes/Northeast region. 19+ in Chicago, 16+ in Detriot, 10+ in Toronto, 12+ in Buffalo, 15+ in Boston. The spread of wealth was absolutely incredible. One of the most solid swaths of snow in recent memory. That animated radar loop was really told the story quite well with that immense snow shield.
