Looking good. I have to drive up to Buffalo for the Sabres game tonight and was planning on staying over night up there. Should be a fun time. The wife will take some video on the way.

Skied at Song Mt south of Syracuse today. Place is barely open. Was fun though with my son, first time for him. This weekends rain is going to sabotage their snowmaking efforts. Maybe better luck later in January. Or March.

Happy New Year to all and be safe out there if venturing out.

Nice little surprise, about 2" of new fluff in the last 3 hours here in western Monroe County courtesy of Lake Erie. We don't often get the right combination of instability and wind to get much snow out of the Lake Erie band this far inland. Nice large flakes, wind has calmed down - beautiful!

Enjoy!!

AT 530 PM...RADAR SHOWS TWO BANDS OFF LAKE ERIE THEN CONVERGENCE

ACROSS GENESEE COUNTY BEFORE WEAKENING AS IT MOVES INTO MONROE

COUNTY. BRISK SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS HAVE PUSHED THIS QUITE FAR OFF

LAKE ERIE. BASED ON THIS...EXPECT SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW ACROSS

MONROE COUNTY...ESPECIALLY SOUTH AND WEST OF DOWNTOWN ROCHESTER.

HAVE ISSUED AN ADVISORY FOR MONROE AND ORLEANS COUNTIES FOR THIS

BAND.

OTHERWISE...EXPECT LAKE EFFECT SNOW TO CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT

SEVERAL HOURS...WITH MEANDERING OF THIS BAND LIKELY. IT ALSO MAY

CONSOLIDATE INTO A SINGULAR BAND THIS EVENING. SNOWFALL RATES ARE

ALREADY 1 TO 2 INCHES AN HOURS...WITH SNOWFALL RATES IN EXCESS OF

2 INCHES AN HOUR POSSIBLE IF THE BAND CONVERGENCES. HAVE ALSO

TWEAKED AMOUNTS UP A BIT BASED ON LATEST SPOTTER REPORTS...WITH 6

TO 12 INCHES EXPECTED OFF LAKE ERIE TONIGHT.
