Winter 2014-2015 Totals

 

11/13/14: Trace (Sleet, mostly rain)

11/26/14: 0.10 (Snow began to stick on grass/other surfaces but the lighter rates caused it to change back to rain)

12/4/14: 0.10 (Sleet)

12/12/14: 0.25 (Snowed for 3 hours. Moderate at times.)

1/6/15: 3 Inches (Cold Snow. At the end the snow was big fluffy flakes)

1/21/15: 3 Inches (Heavy wet snow. Covered everything).

1/23/15: 0.10 (Mixture of Sleet, Freezing Rain, & Snow)

1/26-27/15:  1.55 inches (About 1 inch in the morning and the rest in the evening/overnight. Some sleet/freezing rain).

2/1/15: 0.50 (A half of inch of snow washed away)

2/10/15: 0.10 (At least 0.10 of ice. Schools Closed).

2/12/15: Trace (Large Flakes that came down for 15-20 minutes but temps was 40 degrees)

2/14/15: 3 Inches (3 inches of snow in a quick squall) (A trace in the morning also.)

2/16-17: 4 Inches (Horrible rates & flake size)

 

Total: 15.70 Inches

11/27/14 Trace sleet (clipper)

12/30/14 Trace snow

1/14/15 coating of freezing rain and sleet

1/15/15 Trace of snow, surprise late night coating

1/26/15 Trace sleet (coastal

1/27/15 2.3" band set up over me and jackpotted (coastal wrap around)

1/28/15 Trace snow (coastal wrap around)

2/12/15 Trace snow showers from arctic front brief 1/2 mile vis

TOTAL 2.3"

Official 2/16-2/17 storm total for Richmond was 7.2".

You are higher than me in every single event except for this past Saturday (where I matched your total). Where and how exactly are you measuring?  

I'm in the 270 triangle, on the NE side. I usually measure on a bench in my front yard and also check the pavement if it's a cold storm to corroborate. If it's a warm storm and a lot melted on the pavement I measure on the car tops. 

 

What was your total last year, btw?

11-26-14:      3.75"  (heavy wet snow, temps above freezing, 7AM - 3 PM)

1-6-15:          3.5"   (early AM clipper powder, temps in low 20s)

1-21-15:          .5"   (absolute clipper failure.  one of the worst events of my lifetime.  ground completely bare by late afternoon.)

1-24-15:          T     (WSW for 4-7".  Lots of rain.  JOKE)

1-26/27-15:    2.0"  (33F slop, grass only.  WSW for 6-8".  Miller B JOKE.  Surprise evening/night light snows saved event.)

2-14-15:         .2"    (5 minute squall from arctic front)

2-16-15:       3.0"    (light snow, low teens, WSW for 6-10")

2-18-15          T      (Predictable FROPA fail)

 

Total:            12.95"

 

When will this suckfest of winter end?

Nov 26: 2.0"

Jan 6: 2.5

Jan 21: 3.5

Jan 27: 3.0

Feb 14: 0.5" (areas as close as Rockville and Columbia got 2-4")

Feb 16: 2.8 (was predicted for 4-8" up to and during the event)

Feb 18: 0.5 ("cartopper headquarters" was appropriate thread title for this)

Much below normal temps but so little to show for it. Still waiting on a warning criteria snowfall.
