I am 1.6 mi SSE of Short Pump town center when you go to make your map, Katie... if you want coordinates, let me know and I'll DM you...

1/27: 2"

2/16-17: 7.0"

2/26: 5.1"

I can google Short Pump, VA and use the lat/long that comes up. General location is better than none at all. Thanks!!

11-26-14:      3.75"  (heavy wet snow, temps above freezing, 7AM - 3 PM)

1-6-15:          3.5"   (early AM clipper powder, temps in low 20s)

1-21-15:          .5"   (absolute clipper failure.  one of the worst events of my lifetime.  ground completely bare by late afternoon.)

1-24-15:          T     (WSW for 4-7".  Lots of rain.  JOKE)

1-26/27-15:    2.0"  (33F slop, grass only.  WSW for 6-8".  Miller B JOKE.  Surprise evening/night light snows saved event.)

2-14-15:         .2"    (5 minute squall from arctic front)

2-16-15:       3.0"    (light snow, low teens, WSW for 6-10")

2-18-15          T      (Predictable FROPA fail)

2-21-15         9.0"   (Great event, from a cutter no less.  At one point I measured .75" in a 10-minute period, 2.5" in 1-hour)

2-26-15         1.5"   (Early AM event from southern coastal.  Nice snow-on-snow event, nice 10-day stretch of snow cover and cold)

Total:            23.5"    (2.5 inches from climo)

Looks like that Euro weekly snow map from a few weeks ago actually verified in our area

16" in under 2 weeks including an 8" storm + 2 weeks of solid snowcover = solid winter. This winter may have been frustrating but it certainly has not been bad. I still rate it as a 7/10. Feb temps have been quite a surprise.

If we get a warning event in March I'll kick it up to 8/10.

11/13 - 1.0

11/26 - 3.25

12/2 - .25

1/6 - 3.25

1/21 - 3.0

1/22 - 0.25

1/23 - 1.0

1/26-27 - 3.75

1/29 - 0.25

2/1 - 0.75

2/14 - 1.75

2/16-17 - 3.5

2/19 - 0.5

2/21 - 9.25  Woo!  Finally broke the 3 inch curse!

2/26 - 1.0 Nudging closer to climo average

Total - 32.75   Passed the 30" threshold   :snowing: and my annual average is within striking range ~ 35".  Now this winter feels OK.  Just need March to produce a normal amount ~ 7" on average.

January and February have been solid.  BN in January and near-record cold in February.  Average snow in January (for MBY at least) and AN snow in February.  Add in next week's uberHECS from yesterday's 12z Euro and it will be memorable.
