Baum
Approaching 3 inches here. It's a nice clipper, but nothing memorable. It has been mostly very small flakes with a couple better bands thrown in that had decent flakes. I'm expecting to finish at about 5 inches. Some of the models (GFS/NAM) totally bombed with this system. For a long time they had the heaviest snow in sw Iowa, but it ended up in northern Iowa. The Des Moines are is going to get a fair amount less than earlier expected. I'll be happy if the Hawkeys beat Illinois. Sorry, had to say it. Apologize for the OT. Enjoy the snow. Chicago Storm
Already seeing lake enhanced make it as far inland as here.
cyclone77
Took forever to saturate so the snow got off to a pretty slow start. Snow started around 2 but didn't really start sticking much until about 3:30. Still a little under an inch at this point. 3-4" call for here still looking good, but no longer thinking there's a chance we go higher than that. Geos
Been snowing lightly on and off in Racine, but not more than 0.3" here. Looks like 4.5" was the cap on the accumulation over the DVN cwa.
cyclone77
Wow, can definitely see why it took so long for the snow to reach the surface. Talk about a dry layer lol. Check this sounding out I grabbed off the DVN fb page..
A-L-E-K
haha, i think we had a bit of a feeder seeder setup that helped withe dry air here but forcing is p lame

Check this sounding out I grabbed off the DVN fb page.. The data off SPC says that was a -54c dewpoint at 809mb. Just a bit dry I would say. Yeah after seeing that it almost seems like a miracle it snowed at all today lol. Best snow of the event so far over the last hour or so. Flake size continues to be pretty small, but it's pouring out there pretty nicely. DVN has been at 1/4 +SN for awhile now.

Geos
Mainly fine flakes here, but occasionally full dendrites fall for a short time. Thinking there is some lake influence, but not a lot. About 0.8" so far.

hawkeye_wx
This system was a bit underwhelming for the central and southern parts of Iowa. I ended up with about 4.3 inches. It was also windier than expected, which affected my measuring again.
cyclone77
This one's turning out to be a heaping pile of dog crap. Haven't reached 2" yet and the radar looks terrible. Ratios have probably been close to 10:1 because of the small flakes. Turning out to be a little refresher at least I guess.

blue60007
Not sure why the Td at LAF keeps dropping - been steadily rising on my station. Flakes finally starting to fall here. Maybe an inch...

We're actually running a tad ahead of models as far as precip reaching the ground, so I'm still thinking we end up with a bit more than that.
