Mallow
Agreed with this. Traditionally, these years that have had a number of storms already (as we have) tend to lead up to something bigger. It's been over seven years since the Great Gale of 2007, and nearly eight years since the Hanukkah Eve Storm of 2006 and it seems like we're overdue for another major one. Was in Seattle (UW) for that one. It was a fun one! December 1995 in Portland is my best windstorm memory. Gusting to 52mph in Eugene now, btw. andyhb
Was in Seattle (UW) for that one. It was a fun one! I lost power for awhile with that one. Also of course took down a lot of trees in Stanley Park (worst blowdown there since the Columbus Day tempest I believe).
Mallow
62mph gust in Portland (strongest since 1995). Also a 71mph gust in one of the southwest suburbs. Pretty impressive!

andyhb
Lost power here, very gusty. Probably 50-60+ mph at tree top level. House is creaking and saw some transformers blowing a few minutes ago.
