what's your total as of now?

Haven't measured in awhile. Have to be over 3 feet. I am 2-3 miles north from the NWS location in Hamburg. There is a death band 5 miles north of me that hasn't moved since last night. That location is getting 5-6 inches per hour for hours and hours....If anyone gets 100 its West Seneca/Lackawanna/OP/Lancaster

Not sure I can even fathom 6 feet of snow. Most I have ever seen was GHD, and that was less than 2.

It really is incredible....I was trying to drive through Buffalo on my way home from Boston during that 2001 event. Got stranded and had to spend the night in a hotel there.  The scenery/images I saw seemed fake.  Homes and trees with feet an feet of snow piled on top.  It looked like some painting from the north pole or something.  I actually took some movies of the driving on the hwy and around town as we were searching for a hotel.  I will have to try and find those.

Incredible. @NWSBUFFALO now forecasting 70" of snow off Lake Erie including South Buffalo and the immediate southeast suburbs.

Epic!!! That's hard to comprehend that much snow in one storm! haha.

Epic pictures btw. Would love to experience a LES storm like that.

Where do you even beginning to put that snow?!

I remember when this guy said he didn't live in a LES belt.

I still stand by that notion. I don't live in a LES snowbelt. I had 160 inches last year, Perrysburg 30 mins south of me had 330 inches. I can drive to the city in 15 minutes. I live in a southern suburb of Buffalo. My parents live in a northern suburb and have 2 inches. Do they live in the snowbelt?

I can't believe DTX still had headlines of 1-3" with Isolated 4" amounts in their morning discussion.

It was the perfect wind direction, perhaps dry air killed the ability for it to survive the trek across the state.

Who cares... I'm going to Gaylord on Thursday anyhow... haha
