* AT 1153 PM EST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED

AN INTENSE LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND CAPABLE OF PRODUCING SNOWFALL

RATES OF 3 TO 4 INCHES PER HOUR...AND VISIBILITY OF A QUARTER OF A

MILE OR LESS. THIS LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND WAS ABOUT 10 TO 15 MILES

WIDE WITH THE NORTHERN EDGE EXTENDING FROM SOUTH BUFFALO TO ATTICA

AND THE SOUTHERN EDGE EXTENDING FROM ANGOLA TO WARSAW.

Here is a small part of the long, detailed BUF discussion 

 

 

RECENT NEAR BLIZZARD AND VERIFYING BLIZZARDS HAVE SOMEWHAT SIMILAR WIND PROFILES...WITH THE
RELATIVELY RECENT 01/2014 BLIZZARD SHOWING A MUCH MORE PRONOUNCED
WIND SIGNATURE. THE CURRENT FORECAST IS MORE CLOSELY MATCHED WITH
NEAR BLIZZARDS OF 12/2008 AND 12/2009...BOTH OF WHICH COULD HAVE
VERIFIED AT LEAST AS LOCALIZED BLIZZARDS. STILL NOT CONFIDENT
ENOUGH FOR A NEW WARNING.

32.4 inches in Elma as of a few hours ago. Wouldn't be surprised to see some 6 feet totals+

 

Band still destroying us.

...INTENSE LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO IMPACT THE AREA DURINGTHE MORNING COMMUTE...* AT 653 AM EST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED  TO INDICATE AN INTENSE LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND CAPABLE OF  PRODUCING SNOWFALL RATES OF 4 INCHES PER HOUR OR MORE...AND  VISIBILITY OF A QUARTER OF A MILE OR LESS. THIS LAKE EFFECT SNOW  BAND CONTINUED TO BE FOCUSED ACROSS THE BUFFALO SOUTHTOWNS. THERE  WILL BE A VERY SLOW SOUTHWARD DRIFT TO THE BAND THROUGH THE  MORNING.
