I wouldn't even call this a miss though, they has snow but ended up getting some freezing rain on top which cut back on the snow totals. A miss to me would have been if they got nothing.

They got 3" or less from MSP-south (bare ground in extreme southern burbs). They were forecast like 6-10" I think...with up to 10-16" in the northern burbs. It was known that there would be a sharp gradient, but the storm went a bit further north than thought. You know how the public is though...joe blow who lives in a southern burb of Minneapolis heres the phrase "up to 16 inches", now has 1" in his yard and is ready to bash forecasters.

For those interested. I have many webcams on my weather site all across Michigan's upper peninsula. It'll be interesting to watch how much and who gets the snow tomorrow. A friend of mine he has received 8" so far up there. Wish he had a web cam at his place though, but he's in a good spot to be seeing some of the most snow. I'll post how much he does get when the storm winds down.

Just about everyone in MSP metro picked up accumulating snow overnight and is still snowing. When a tight gradient occurs across a metro as big as this, people will always bash the forecast as they didn't get what was 'expected'. I'd hardly call this a complete miss. Having to use the snowblower twice since yesterday afternoon for the first snow of the season isn't a miss in my book.

definitely not a complete miss, but definitely a huge bust. Gradient storms are a b*tch to forecast, but when the forecast was at one point the day before the storm 9-15" & u get like 3" its a bust. But your like me if that happened here its a winter wonderland in my yard & im happy. Everyone else in SE MI would be in the complaint thread
