I am looking for a cheap (accurate) digital wireless outdoor thermometer? Any suggestions?

I am as well.

I've over-researched this and decided that I'm going with this one.  http://www.ambientweather.com/amws11.html

It's a little more than I wanted to spend, but it's got the features that I want (max/min temp, barometer, hygrometer), and even a few that I don't (changing backlight option?  Really?)  But, it's also the only one that I found that has a temp error of +/- 1 and not +/- 2, and the most important feature to me is current and max/min temperature.

Oh, yeah.  The other thing that I liked is that the receiver has an outlet option.

Have you all found anything better?

Good patterns that produce no winter weather are totally useless.  Tomorrow will be lovely.  Bone chilling cold with dirt and leaves for your eye candy.  I hope everyone enjoys it.

Anomalous weather is always fun. Especially sub freezing highs in Nov. I'm looking very forward to it. Let's break a few temp records. Cold ones don't happen very often.

NWS Buffalo's AFD is straight up snow weenie pr0n.

https://nwschat.weather.gov/p.php?pid=201411162035-KBUF-FXUS61-AFDBUF

LAKE INDUCED INSTABILITY WILL BE EXTREME WITH LAKE INDUCED CAPE

PEAKING AT AROUND 1400J/KG AND EQUILIBRIUM LEVELS AROUND 20K FEET.
SUCH STRONG INSTABILITY AND WELL ALIGNED FLOW IS STRONGLY SUGGESTING
INTENSE SNOWFALL RATES WITH 3-5 INCHES PER HOUR A POSSIBILITY AT
TIMES FROM LATE MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT. OUR LAKE EFFECT
LIGHTNING NOMOGRAM FROM LOCAL RESEARCH DONE BY RSH ALSO SUGGESTS A
GOOD POTENTIAL FOR THUNDER AND LIGHTNING OFF BOTH LAKES. WINDS WILL
BE STRONG ESPECIALLY LATE MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING WITH
GUSTS IN THE 40-45 MPH RANGE RESULTING IN SIGNIFICANT BLOWING AND
DRIFTING SNOW AND NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS AT TIMES IN AND NEAR THE
BANDS.

That looks really interesting. I was hoping but couldn't find one in this price range that shows the high/low temps for the day.

Sorry, I don't agree.  Cold in the winter without snow to go with it is like rubbing salt in a wound.

70 would be anomalous as well, BTW.

Closer to Rochester

Nice.  My Mom's side of the family is all from Niagara county, so I'm very familiar with the area.  The microclimates in that area are really fun to figure out.  Where I'd go visit family, they were usually out of the heaviest lake bands and have a mean annual snowfall of "only" 50-60".  But you could drive 20 minutes to locations with almost twice that annual average closer to Niagara Falls city and Tonawanda.

I'm guessing that you mean recorded max/min temps without having to reset?  If so, I'm not sure if the graph feature would help with that or not.

I wish Davis made something that was as accurate and had the temp, dp, bar, hum, etc, features of the more expensive models but didn't have the rain gauge or anemometer.

Yeah, Niagara Co gets the shaft wrt lake snows.  Roc was nice in that we'd get the tail end of the SW events off Erie and cash in on the NW events with the Georgian Bay connection

It's that time of year again. Started getting the chills late last night with a bit of a sore throat. Some advil cold and flu did the trick, but today the chills are laughing at the over the counter meds. Thankfully, the kid already got the flu nasal spray. I can deal with being sick, but a sick two year old is holy dramatic batman.

have you taken your temperature?   Chills usually means you are running high.

Yeah, not running too warm. Right around 100. These types of things generally pass me over within a day or two. Fingers crossed.
