Mostly 12. Definitely 11 if we're talking KUs. During GB '13 (after not sleeping over 24 hrs) I shoveled drivers out at 3am, jebwalked with a shovel for a few miles, and dug people out until I literally started blacking out. Good times.

I am #12. Legend has it the shovel I had to retire in 2011 goes back to the winter of 1996. Ah my old trusty blue must have logged over a millions scoops. Steel handle with a back saving angle and aluminum end scooper. A better shovel there has never been made. Over the years some rivets gave way and were replaced with and odd assortment of bolts and nuts. In the end it more looked like an ancient relic from Siberia.

Lol! You guys are heroes.

Wife and daughter are enjoying time with the in-laws in South Carolina, so I'm brewing a chocolate oatmeal stout today (right now, in fact). Basically a grown man's chemistry experiment that gives you beer after a month or two. So awesome.

I'm also going to make a few pints of cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving before going out to pick up leaves. Then I'll drink beer.

I'm debating on brewing today or tomorrow.  Over on the eastern shore is the Waterfowl Festival in Easton that I might go to this afternoon.  Either way, I'm brewing a Christmas beer that will have a touch of honey, ginger, cinnamon, and orange zest.  It should be ready just in time for our annual Christmas party in mid-December.

Good luck with your brew.

Thanks. This is only my second brew, and first with my all-grain brew-in-a-bag setup. I'm bringing the wort to a boil right now, and it smells oh so bready!

Your beer sounds really nice. I'd like to do a spiced beer, but I'll probably wait until I make an Allagash White clone sometime in late-winter in preparation for spring drinking.

Good luck with yours, too. It'll be awesome to serve your homebrew for the Holidays!

mmmmm ... Beer talk!

I'm actually taking my homebrewing to another level -- I'm opening up my own Brewpub here in Davis (Stumptown Ales) as soon as my licensing comes through, hopefully by the end of winter.

I brew 10 gallon batches on my Sabco system using only mountain spring water. I'll have to brew my arse off until I get a bigger system.

Cheers!

Just another reason to come up for a visit. Good luck!

so when did they split 495 with a median so that when you're coming north on 95 and you want to head to Baltimore via 295 they sucker you into getting into the two 2 left lanes marked "Baltimore" meaning the exit for 295N (to Baltimore) is now inaccessible?

don't get me wrong, I was able to go 70-75 all along the east side (I95) so I'm not sure if I actually lost time, but 295 is definitely a shorter, straighter route
