snowfan
So seems that winds stayed up. That was last night's story. What is tonights story? LWX has my overnight low as 43. I thought we were in store for two legit freeze chances.....this morning and next. We suck!

snowfan
Well, we've got more chances coming this weekend. It has to happen eventually...except for DCA. GFS appears to have the freezing line running the 95 corridor next Saturday. Maybe we get it then.
snowfan
Despite the fact that I hit RIC dead on, I'm going to be at least 8-9 days late with IAD and BWI. And it'll probably never freeze at DCA, but that's ok with me since winter around here is very much a MBY sport. I hope so. My Dulles pick is starting to hurt. WxUSAF
So when is our next epic storm? I sure am glad we had this one to break the boredom. Well, this storm WAS historic for some locations. Pattern looks cold and stormy starting this weekend and moving forward.
T. August
My prediction from last night, then in parentheses observed temps this morning: BWI: 32F (37F) IAD: 29F (35F) DCA:40F (44F) RIC: 32F (32F) IMBY... Inland: 29F (31.5F) Water: 35F (41F) I give myself an A+
T. August
I give your location an A+ lol. At first I thought something has to be wrong with the sensor, but then I checked some local stations. A few 33F showed up SW of me, then there was a 34F NE.
wawarriors4
Dropped to 29F down here in Spotsylvania, always fun to have an iced over windshield in the morning when you are running late.

WxUSAF
Next week is shaping up to be really fun. -10C 850s around us on each of the globals at one time or another after Day 7. A couple storms (possibly coastals), some serious cold air shots (double digit below zero in the upper Midwest), lake effect snow. Maybe even some sprinkles and wind for us! T. August
The 12z EURO is very cold at 240 hrs. I'm not sure if it's anything to worry about, but yet again the mid-month cold shot has the best negative departures (2m temp) towards the Gulf Coast again. And, just like this weekend's cold shot, I'm sure it'll moderate by the time it reaches us. #weenieworries

NinjaWarrior2
WPC says we get 1.00"-1.75" of rain by Thursday Evening. Yet looking at the (worthless) SREF's, they average a minuscule quarter of an inch.

T. August
LWX just said **** it and declared the growing season over. lol, what? Well, if mid-upper 30s classifies as a freeze, they should've ended the growing season on October 5.
Ian
lol, what? Well, if mid-upper 30s classifies as a freeze, they should've ended the growing season on October 5.Yeah not sure. I think maybe once they issue freeze warnings once it counts regardless tho that doesn't cover east of 95. Most of the area has reached it's avg first freeze. https://nwschat.weather.gov/p.php?pid=201411032153-KLWX-NOUS41-PNSLWX
