There is some very nice 700mb frontogenesis in eastern Maine where it is snowing the hardest. (check SPC Mesoanalysis.) I have been checking

http://mesonet.agron.iastate.edu/lsr

for local storm reports in this region. However, there aren't any. Is there any reason why LSRs are not issued when it is snowing in the Northeast?

Check the latest PNS.

Wow, I was up at Acadia last weekend ... a weekend too early I guess. 6" in nearby Ellsworth ... sweet :)

Light non-accumulating snow in my 'hood

Winterport got blown across the Penobscot into Hancock County?  ;)

Ground is sort of white, less than 1/4" with -SN, and twice as much on windward vertical surfaces as on horizontal.  Looks like we'll bust way low, but places not too far east will verify.

Pretty much all she wrote. Sharp nw edge to precip in a bombing system elongated by the double low combined with a warm bl didn't get us anywhere in and inside bos. Had my hopes that mid levels might get us a band to bring down some higher snowfall rates to overcome it. Didnt happen but I was thrilled to see early season flakes.

The waves at Nantasket right now are incredible! One brave soul is surfing!\

There are plenty of protected spots to surf that will be clean where all of the good guys will be at.  The fact that someone is out surfing at Nantasket says they're a :weenie: and probably in way over their head. (pun intended).
