WxBlue
meh it's one run. Hurricane Tracker and I both think SREF is out to lunch. There's no way there will be that much phasing going on.

It is funny you know every one is like in panic mode. I will ride the euro all the way and the gfs. As franklin has said the ukie has been rock steady. It did go little north but not enough to take us out of all-snow I think (850mb was cold). In fact, this run was even juicier for us. EDIT: QPF look the same so far through 54. SN_Lover
That was crazy. Main roads were not even touched. in the 3-4 hours on 421, i did not see 1 plow. cars in ditches and almost like a wall of cars stalled going north blocking the way to boone. flash freezes happening up there also tonight. SN_Lover
the lee of the mountains got about 2-3 inches of snow. this system was a overproducer.
AirNelson39
Probably our best snow of the season tonight in Boone.

wncsnow
Not optimistic for this upcoming Euro run, but we'll see... Good reason not to be...maybe Boone north can still do quite well... doesn't look great here for the foothills, I would be happy with 2 inches honestly at this point

wncsnow
Euro says ice :/ I like power though Yea, me too, but we are overdue a significant ice storm honestly. I think an inch or 2 or snow and ip followed by .25 to .50 zr for the foothills looking at the euro
WxBlue
I can't recall models doing a complete 180 inside 48 hours before. Today was a weird day...
Tacoma
doesn't make sense we don't stay all snow and get more snow with as cold as its going to be. plus what happend to the second storm for Tuesday night and Wednesday, I don't hear any mention of that second wave of snow. Tacoma
snow totals for us look awful skimpy unless gsp just being conservative right now. one place they say 3-5 inches of snow then another place they say heavy snow possible monday and tuesday and if that is the case we would have more snow when all is said and done. I guess there is still a lot of uncertainty of the storm.
WNC_Fort
The SREF mean in Asheville is now .7…... Less than 24 hours ago it was 7.7. It feels like this threat is gonna be a non issue snow wise here. Im still holding out hope for the upcoming pattern but I doubt anything will come of it. Met1985
Lol this looks like a non event down here know. Maybe an inch of snow. Lol go figure for this winter. Next. I am thoroughly disgusted with the weather currently.

We usually don't get a lot of ice around here.same here but temps pretty much stay below freezing below 5000'ft. And 850 temps don't warm until the main heavy slug of precip moves in. Dew points will be below 0 tomorrow and low temps will be in the single digits.
HurricaneTracker
Holy moly guacamole. 09Z SREF looks downright dangerous for the mountains. Many members have total QPF 1.25-1.75" and only 1" of snow. So what? So that's a ****load of freezing rain and sleet. Ptype indicated only 20% chance of snow but near 90% chance of sleet and at least 50% chance of freezing rain. Wow. I am speechless. Met1985
You just cancelled this storm 2 posts ago lollol I know a mini meltdown for me. This past 12 hours the models have just done a 180. I'm like great should be no surprise the way this winter has gone so far.
