Looks like things are pulling back with the cold and snow. Does not look to get as cold and upslope chances seem to be diminishing also. This winter has stunk and continues to stink.

Exactly why I said "we'll see how this go" after 12z runs, lol. What a disaster of winter after so much hope :\

Moisture upstream looks great right know. When this hit's we are going to have some heavy snow.

It's starting to light up for sure. I texted a friend that's a middle school teacher here and told her to keep an eye out the window. She said the school system is trying to figure out what to do. They get in a bind when these systems come in during the school day. It can get bad quickly on our winding roads, especially when the temps are in the mid 20's.

Nothing on radar but have flurries already. I think even the valleys are going to get in on this.

Maybe.  Temps are in the upper 30s to low 40s here in the French Broad Valley, with winds just starting to increase a bit.  Would take some decent cooling to get snow to stick, though I do expect at least flurries.  As with most NWFS events, very hard for valley's to get much of anything.  I don't see this event being any different since most models, including the HRRR don't have nary anything showing up today at all.

HT any thoughts about next week?

Well certainly looks like there will be some sort of storm.  Really just too many moving parts at this range to pin things down.  I like the look of the CAD signature that seems to be showing up on more runs.  But we are basically still at a Day 6 event, so need to wait unitl Saturday at the earliest before we begin to really dissect the model runs.

No model of choice right now either.  Both GFS and Euro have backed off on the depth of the cold for Sunday and that has implications for next week.  It's a "wait and see" mode.
