OHweather
What is the max snow out of NW IN going to be, 2"? Hi-res models were pretty insistent on a consolidated band, but I guess the strong winds had something to say about that.
Hoosier
Semi-decent band taking shape off the IL/WI shore.

Hoosier
There's a 10 degree spread in dewpoint between ORD and MDW right now. Pretty amazing representation of the marine influence.

Chicago WX
IND has reported a mix with a couple of observations this afternoon/evening. Makes the 8th time a T or more has been recorded on Halloween (0.1" in 1890 is the record, all other instances were a trace)...and, it's the first since 1993. Stebo
Just switched to a -RASN mix here at DTW about 10 minutes ago. I wouldn't be surprised if we switched to all snow at some point as places to the north are straight snow.

Hi-res models were pretty insistent on a consolidated band, but I guess the strong winds had something to say about that. I'd probably even take the under on that. Sure, the PBL is cooling off now as we get dark, but there's no consolidated band, except (sort of) what's coming in to IL. Bust on the snow aspect for sure, but thankfully it's still only October. LOT mentioned that snow was accumulating well inland but I haven't actually seen any reports yet. It probably doesn't help that those areas are a lot more rural. Temps were obviously a huge question for this setup but the thing that was kinda overlooked (at least by me) was the band organization or lack of...precip rates were good but it was spread out and never really attained that classic single band firehose structure. All in all a learning experience in multiple ways and something to file away in the memory bank.

Geos
Starting to pick up on some -SN again. Was down by the lakefront and it quite a spectacle. Just like how it was with Sandy - only this time there was snow in the air and colder! Quite a few people came down to check out the show. Stebo
Sirens second time in Sterling Heights...No sure what's going on.. Snow/rain mix..windy I am reading they used the sirens to signal the trick-or-treat times which would make sense since it was 6pm and 8pm. It is also incredibly asinine and dangerous to use tornado sirens in any other manner other than for severe weather.
