* AT 226 PM EST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
A LINE OF SHOWERS AND EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS STORM CAPABLE OF
PRODUCING DAMAGING WINDS UP TO 60 MPH. THE LINE WAS ENTERING
BROOKLYN AND MOVING EAST AT 55 MPH.

Very heavy downpour here in Western Nassau with estimated gusts to around

40 mph before the winds quickly dropped. People who are driving need to

take caution as the visibility rapidly fell and a large number of leaves

were stripped off the trees creating a mini leaf blizzard.

The leaf blizzard was by far the best part. I don't remember seeing anything like that since a similar cold front passage as a kid.
