s/w ull over sc is already rounding the bottom of the trof which is a good sign.

12z gfs snow maps (TAKE WITH GRAIN OF SALT) say 2-3" interior ne ma and orh hills with first storm. Hard to see on wxbell but 6+ at BOS if these snow maps are correct with second wave? LOL.

SV maps are no where near 6+ but they indicate about 2 though by gfs.

Well be careful and be sure to give credence to ground truth as things unfold. Euro can often sh it the bed with qpf placement.

Well what I mean is that the GFS sometimes has these last minute tick east in the final 24 hrs. So it's a matter of miles and that is important. I'm not looking at QPF per se, but more at mid level features. I won't have to worry about it until later anyways. Of course the subtle trend the last 24 hrs is formidable. So nothing can be tossed right now.

The Watch is for 1-3"?

You know it's for the potential but interesting wording. Point and click and zones look odd too with only a 30% chance of snow and no accums.

Talk about uncertainty.

:axe:

I have so many problems with what I was handed. If we think impacts are going to be significant from wet snow, then put that in the forecast. We had zero snow in the forecast for all of Cumberland County, yet a winter storm watch.

I'd honestly rather jump from nothing to warning/advisory than have a watch out with no accumulations or 30% PoP.

The update you see now is basically without looking at anything, but just getting the forecast closer to the headlines.

That's what I was curious about earlier on the post. I understood the threat you all over there are seeing but wondering why the grids didn't have any update to them to match the headlines. I am here near BXM and if things set up nice I look to be right on the edge of the serious band action. However like a lot of us have been saying. Boy this is very complex and models can't handle all of that and we are on the border line of short term to near term. This has to be for sure one of the most complex systems to develop and come close or hit Maine.

I got skunked in the woods hunting so I am back just looking at the weather. HAHA

I passed a field with about 25-30 herded up this AM (on private land) I think they know boundary lines. Tracking should be easier Sun afternoon with new snowcover although they will probably be bedded up. I am rooting for the GFS to score a coup for once for you Maniacs
