TalcottWx
Less room over quebec compared to 18z. digging further south than 18z. might be closer to 12z gfs than 18z gfs, but lets see the run play out.

TalcottWx
Many run to run differences still to note. It bombs out in the GOM nicely. I just hope that process can occur sooner.

icebreaker5221
-5.62 sigma troughs don't happen too often. Would be a shame to have such an anomalous upper-air pattern with ample cold air nearby, only to bring any respectable accumulations to the highest peaks of the southern Appalachians and Maine. But that's looking more and more like the most likely scenario.

If rain and 44 is your thing ok sure. The reason all the excitement was generated by this was the chance at the regions first snowfall..and some region wide damaging winds. powderfreak
Euro looked pretty darn close to it's ensemble mean last night, that seems like a decent compromise. Half inch to an inch of rain for eastern areas, changing to mangled flakes or a period of snow at the end. It highlights the northern ORH hills and points NE for maybe some slushy light accums up to an inch. Mountains of Maine from Sunday River northeast get advisory level 2-5" snows out of 0.3-0.5" QPF. powderfreak
There was never really a shot dude, it's always looked like rain. I'll take a good storm. There's been a lot of confusion with this event...like people saying the track is perfect for a big storm and then some asking "how much"? I'm not sure any model runs really delivered big snows outside the NNE mountains, even the most weenie runs aside from maybe a rouge ensemble member here or there. The words snow and storm can be mutually exclusive.
