SnowGoose69
Have a question re: that 240 flow NWS Buffalo mentioned. Thought that a 240 direction off of Erie should direct snowbands across north Buffalo and towards northtowns. Is the flow actually 240 or more like 255-260? Looks like the "firehose" of snow coming off of Erie will continue to blast the southtowns for at least the next 5-6 hours. I think Buffalo is closer to 230, the same direction does not always put bands in the same place, anticyclonic curvature can affect the bands placement as well as upstream connections...I was in Oswego and sometimes we could get hit on a 270 flow if the band had anticyclonic curvature, a 275-285 flow was ideal but sometimes those could end up south. Superstorm
Here is a friend of mine from Lancaster. Wow. I tried to drive from Williamsville to Hamburg this morning...fruitless. Went from 2" of snow to 2 feet of snow in 7 miles (Bailey Road). What a mess. Will try again (maybe) tomorrow. crownweather
Any chance that band swings north this afternoon? Sent from my iPhone High res guidance (HRRR model) suggests the opposite, a shift to the south by late this afternoon; although, radar loops over the last 30 minutes shows a tiny, tiny bit of a northward shift in the band. BuffaloWeather
Damn. Can't believe the band backed north a bit. Making a run for 5 ft. You're going to get way more than that I think. When is this thing supposed to shut down? I thought it was going to drift south and then back north tonight? Looking at upstream radars it seems to be going gun hoe...
