Oh come on man, you just chase through the bans. They are too busy to care. I did it for years.

Yep....I just drove from home to work in Lancaster.  Just have to drive very carefully - last thing you want to do is go off the road and have to pull emergency crews from other stuff.

Seeing the cut-off is just incredible.  Just a couple inches at the Harris Hill/Genesee intersection in northern Lancaster.  Heading south from there on Harris Hill is a different world.  Literally go from 2 inches to well over a foot in less than a quarter mile.  I estimate 16-18 inches at my office on Pleasant View only about 2 miles from Harris Hill/Genesee.

A 240 FLOW WILL LIKELY KEEP THIS BAND OF SNOW NEARLY STATIONARY
THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS...WITH JUST SOME MINOR (FEW MILES) OF
WIGGLES NORTH AND SOUTH. EXPECT THE HEAVIEST SNOW ACCUMULATIONS TO
FALL JUST TO THE SOUTH OF ROUTE 33 THROUGH THE EARLY AFTERNOON
HOURS. BASED ON REPORTS THIS MORNING OF SOME AREAS FROM SOUTH
BUFFALO TO LANCASTER OF NEAR 40 INCHES ALREAD
Y AND THE FACT THAT THE
BAND WILL NOT MOVE MUCH THROUGH LATE AFTERNOON...WE HAVE INCREASED
STORM TOTALS TO AROUND 70 INCHES IN THE HARDEST HIT AREAS
.

Congrats guys.

Have a question re: that 240 flow NWS Buffalo mentioned.  Thought that a 240 direction off of Erie should direct snowbands across north Buffalo and towards northtowns.  Is the flow actually 240 or more like 255-260?  Looks like the "firehose" of snow coming off of Erie will continue to blast the southtowns for at least the next 5-6 hours.

That has to be the coolest place on Earth.

It is for me at least. Total Lake effect snow weenie. ^_^

...INTENSE LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO IMPACT THE SOUTHERNHALF OF THE BUFFALO METRO AREA...* AT 1030 AM EST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND CAPABLE OF PRODUCING SNOWFALL RATES OF 4INCHES PER HOUR OR MORE...AND VISIBILITY NEAR ZERO AT TIMES. THESHARP NORTHERN EDGE OF THIS LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND EXTENDS FROM SOUTHBUFFALO TO DEPEW AND EASTWARD TOWARDS DARIEN AND ALEXANDER. THESOUTHERN EDGE OF THE BAND IS HUGGING THE CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHORELINETHEN EXTENDING INLAND ACROSS FAR NORTHERN CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY...THEBOSTON HILLS...AND WYOMING COUNTY.TRAVEL WITHIN THE MOST INTENSE PORTION OF THIS BAND FROM SOUTHBUFFALO INTO THE NEARBY SOUTHERN AND EASTERN SUBURBS IS IMPOSSIBLE.LOCAL OFFICIALS REPORT ALL ROADS ARE IMPASSABLE AND CLOGGED WITHSNOW AND STUCK VEHICLES. DO NOT VENTURE OUT WITHIN THIS AREA. IF YOULIVE NORTH OR SOUTH OF THE BAND OF SNOW DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE INTOTHE AFFECTED AREAS...YOU WILL BECOME TRAPPED.

Love how they worded this!  Should have added, "and buried alive" for the full effect.

Think it is a typo. The band is supposed to slowly drift south today or stall and then drift north tonight/tomorrow morning into Kbuf again.
