Plus partly sunny and a little higher sun angle for mid November

Yep.  Amazing to think this time last week it was in the mid 60s.  Since then we've transformed into an arctic type environment with even the ground temps now below freezing.  VERY glad I didn't blow off the yard work last Monday now lol.

5th day in a row of at least flurries...not adding up to anything at all really...but still anomalous

Visible satellite and radar look like the heart of winter with the cloud streets/snow streets developing over the snow pack.  Could be a few robust snow showers later on today when those mature even further.

Moline down to a 1/2 mile in moderate snow.

EDIT:  Make that 1/4 mile in heavy snow as of 2120z

That was a brutal walk back and forth to school to pick up the older boy....had the wind at my back for the walk to school...knew it was gonna sook for the walk back home with the wind at our face...first real shock to the system this "winter"...wow

blustery bouts of -SN but mostly just wind whipped flurries

For MKE:

Today marks the first Nov day since 1977 to see a high in the teens and the earliest occurrence since Nov 1959 (17th: 12 degrees)

If the high tomorrow fails to reach 20 it will be the earliest ever occurrence of back to back sub 20 degree highs.

Some Cincinnati (CVG) Stats, at the very southern end of this regional forum's geography:

Forecast high for Tuesday (18-November) is currently 19.

The lowest ever maximum temperature for 18-November is 26 degrees.

That reading is, in fact, the earliest Cincinnati has EVER had a day that only reached 26 degrees.

The first day with a record low maximum temperature in the teens is NEXT Monday, the 24th of November (14 degrees in 1929).

Truly remarkable cold snap.
