That's what I thought. I used to go through there on the way to Nova Scotia every summer when I was growing up. Bangor to Calais on route 9, then crossing the border into St. Stephen.

Been a few times. Went to long lake multiple times when I was younger.

Went to Acadia and bar harbor this past summer. Bar harbor was a pretty nice area.

Not sure what route it is, but we skipped a big highway portion when coming back. And it must have been like 70+ miles of a whole lot of nothing.

May be traveling to nova Scotia this summer. Drive should be miserable lol

Obviously as some will remember I lived in Bridgton ME from 2010/2011. Furthest North in Western ME I went was Rumford. Further north and east into Maine I ever went was Orono was for my official visit to UMaine football.

Sorry about that.  Yes, Calais.  I'd always hop over to St. Steven to make my Canadian visit the times I was there.

To Mainiacs, "LA" is Lewiston/Auburn.  Augusta is 30 miles up the 'Pike.  And no Estcourt Station?  Or Lubec?  (Northern- and Easternmost points, respectively.)

 

Like Jeff, I've been to loads of places in Maine.  The Bureau of Parks and Lands website has maps of all the places they manage, and apart from Historic Sites (less than one quarter), I've been to about 95% of all those locations, mainly work-related.  Maine has about 900 "political divisions" (cities/towns/townships), and I've probably set foot - or tires - on about 80% of them, though I'm not interested in trying to arrive at an exact figure.
