Weathergun
TXKF is on NE side of Bermuda. Probably some stronger winds on SW side of Bermuda now. But 106mph gust report out of the north looks wrong.

wxmeddler
Commissioners Pt and St. Davids AWOS went out at 19:30 UTC. Fort Prospect (Hamiliton) reported 15G23(kts) at 20:30 UTC but it's obviously sheltered from the NE by the eastern ridge.

I think the Fort Prospect site was down before today; when I first checked the AWOS page hours ago, it had the 20:30 report there. Must have been from 20:30 on some previous day. Sophisticated Skeptic
You wonder how much longer the power holds on there... I wonder why they haven't manually shut it off. the most intense surge will occur right around nightfall.
jm1220
If it's down to 115mph now, it'll probably verify as a cat 2 when it reaches Bermuda.

wxmeddler
Looks like the center might track just barely east or even scrape the eastern side of the island. Worst case then for the Great sound area (South end "Fish hook") as the north winds will pile up the water in the bay and back it up into Hamilton.
